Kicking Off the DNC Live Roll Call Vote with LiveU-Crewsouth in Selma, Alabama
One of Crewsouth’s biggest shoots of the COVID era was kicking off the Democratic National Convention's Live Virtual Roll Call vote. The virtual event was an alternative to the risk of a typical crowded political convention. We worked with Rep. Terri Sewell (of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District) to kick off all of the states’ and territories’ delegate count. Crewsouth coordinated the lighting of the famous Edmud Pettus Bridge, the scenic drone flyover footage, and the live shot (with prompter and LiveU LU400) for the Congresswoman. All of this was done safely, outside, with proper protocols followed.

Virtual Productions are more common in today's media environment-Crewsouth in Montgomery, Alabama
Recently, we had an opportunity to film a virtual production with Usher and the Global Citizen award recipient, Bryan Stevenson, in honor of his work with the Equal Justice Initiative. We were on location with Mr. Stevenson at EJI in Montgomery, Alabama filming on a 9’x20’ green screen. Usher was in a remote location interviewing Stevenson via a Zoom call through a laptop. To make this happen, every detail had to be pre-produced. We produced multiple Livestream Virtual Roadshows via Zoom for IMBL-Crewsouth in Irondale, Alabama
With the challenges of Covid, Crewsouth was called by IBML, the information capture and manufacturing technology company based in Irondale, Alabama, to help produce a series of “virtual roadshows” via Zoom. Crewsouth provided full service production design of the virtual event including: video content production for video roll ins, set design, lighted set elements, multicamera live switching, and stage management for several hour-long presentations livestreamed to IBML’s clients in the US as well as international locations.
