Virtual Productions are more common in today's media environment-Crewsouth in Montgomery, Alabama
Recently, we had an opportunity to film a virtual production with Usher and the Global Citizen award recipient, Bryan Stevenson, in honor of his work with the Equal Justice Initiative. We were on location with Mr. Stevenson at EJI in Montgomery, Alabama filming on a 9’x20’ green screen. Usher was in a remote location interviewing Stevenson via a Zoom call through a laptop. We took exact measurements for camera placements, lighting, and matched focal lengths with the other crew so that Stevenson’s placement alongside Usher would look authentic. We provided the team of producers with…

The Dana Dolly is a great tool for creating moving shots without the expense and logistical issues of a traditional camera dolly.
The Dana Dolly is a great tool for creating moving shots without the expense and logistical issues of a traditional camera dolly. While a traditional camera dolly is large, hard to transport, and requires a crew to move while shooting, a Dana Dolly is lightweight, can be assembled in minutes, and can be moved by the camera operator. Because the Dana Dolly is light and adjustable, it can be set up and maneuvered with tight spaces (like offices) with minimal disruption. The Dana Dolly is a regular feature on a Crewsouth shoot.
