Recently, we had an opportunity to film a virtual production with Usher and the Global Citizen award recipient, Bryan Stevenson, in honor of his work with the Equal Justice Initiative. We were on location with Mr. Stevenson at EJI in Montgomery, Alabama filming on a 9’x20’ green screen. Usher was in a remote location interviewing Stevenson via a Zoom call through a laptop. To make this happen, every detail had to be pre-produced. We took exact measurements for camera placements, lighting, and matched focal lengths with the other crew so that Stevenson’s placement alongside Usher would look authentic. Crewsouth’s live shot studio is used all of the time by news and sports networks such as CNN, ESPN, HLN, NFL Network, The Weather Channel, and NBC News. Our new 75 inch HD television monitor allows us to display any image or background at any network’s request. Crewsouth streams the video over a high-speed fiber connection by using LTN Global, which allows television networks all over the world to use our studio for live shots and video feeds.

A lightning strike captured in slow motion while on the coast of Dauphin Island, Alabama
Crewsouth went to the Alabama Gulf Coast to visit the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. We worked with Alabama Public Television and the University of Alabama for the nature documentary series Discovering Alabama. The picture is from a slow motion shoot from around the Gulf of Mexico and the Mobile Bay. This lightning strike appeared for only one frame! The video is from 4K footage shot with the Sony PXW-FS7.
